Хендлинг - Hendling

The concept of Handling came to us not so long ago, but it has already firmly ingrained among breeders and owners of all breeds of dogs.

Handling - translated into English as "control". A handler is a person who controls the dog, representing it in the conformation ring. There is a belief that small breeds of dogs do not need a handle, and some believe that without some training and skill they are able to put their pet. No, no, no and no again - this view is incorrect. A dog of any breed needs handling, and dog owner who does not have specific experience and knowledge, will never present a dog like it will make a professional handler. After all, Handling - a kind of art, a talent that is given not for everyone.

Each breed has its own individual characteristics, and handlers task is to show a dog with the best hand,  present to experts eye all the virtues of dogs and, if possible, to conceal as much as possible of its shortcomings. After all, just bring a beautiful dog in the ring is not enough and 30% of success depends precisely on the handler. The handler must feel the dog, to be well acquainted with the standard and the characteristics of the breed, not less than an expert must see that dog, with whom he works. He should be able to establish a full contact with a dog.

After all, every dog needs to be approached individually, because you can not work with all dogs, under one scheme. Every dog is personality and during the work it is necessary to consider not only the features of this breed, but especially
the ins and outs of dog: its exterior, nature and temperament. The task of the handler also includes training of the dog and prepare it to show. But we must not forget that the handler can be a professional in only one breed, and these handlers usually do not work with dogs of other breeds.

The handler must be aware of all events. He should know the results of examination of the largest exhibitions and should know all the worthy representatives of the species, those species with which he works. It is important to choose the right handler; you need to select one worthy handler, on whom lies the preparation and exhibition of dog in the ring. You should not reverse handler for each exhibit, you are visiting. It is better if the handler starts work with a dog at early age, as the show career can begin as early as 3-4 months. The handler must show the ideal contact with your dog, it should be full understanding, because at the ring is very much appreciated the fact that the handler and the dog look as a unified whole. They should complete each other. It will be very useful if your handler will be even a groomer, because grooming is also very important for your pet. Most of the handlers grooming dogs themselves and it is very advantageous because each groomer, as well as a handler, has its own style of performance. Naturally, everyone sees the exact same dog in its own way, as each handler and groomer has their own idea about the breed, and if the handler and groomer - one person, your dog will appear before an expert in its best form (of course if it will be well-prepared).

Many dog owners make the mistake of assuming that their dog does not need grooming. But grooming is required for any breed.

So, now I can only wish you and your pets success in achieving the goal you set.
